Stories of Resettlement in Trinity Bight.

Bruce Miller: Interview with Amanda Mitchell.

Bruce Miller was born in Kerley’s Harbour in 1959 and moved to New Bonaventure during Newfoundland’s government-sponsored resettlement program. After working in the fishery and wharf construction, he operated Rugged Beauty Boat Tours, bringing visitors to abandoned communities while sharing stories of the people and events that shaped them. He returned to fishing in 2019 and continues to love the work.

In this interview-format presentation with Amanda Mitchell, Bruce shares stories from resettled communities on both sides of his family. Through oral history passed down through generations, he brings to life the experiences of those who lived in now-abandoned outport communities.
